Bart Ehrman"s book "Heaven and Hell"

This book is a really good read.

While he agrees that Jesus and Paul taught annihilation for sinners.......his contention is that later writers differed.

Worth reading since he goes back to ancient civilizations and their beliefs before the earliest Jewish writings and also includes the Greek side of things and how and why it influenced Christians when Rome made Christianity its national religion.

DID ANYONE HERE READ IT? I would be interested to hear analysis and comments from those of you who know more about this than I do.

Thanks, Carl

I have not read it, but agree that it sounds interesting. One question, though. You say "his contention is that later writers differed". Is he talking about later NT writers or others after the NT was complete?

Great idea since he is very influential.
Looks like many are busy but let's try to get a conversation going,
Could you answer the question below about "later writers"? I thought the same thing.
