2016 Rethinking Hell Conference Announcement

After the first two Rethinking Hell conferences drew speakers and guests from around the world to Houston in 2014 and Pasadena in 2015, we are excited to take our conference to the world! Announcing the third annual Rethinking Hell Conference, taking place at Highgate International Church in Highgate, London on October 7-8, 2016. Our theme this year will be “Conditional Immortality: Past, Present, Future.”

Roger Forster, founder of the Ichthus Christian Fellowship and council-member of the Evangelical Alliance, will open the conference Friday night. Hosted by Justin Brierley of Premier Christian Radio’s Unbelievable? radio program, the conference will continue Saturday morning with a presentation by Dr. David Instone-Brewer, scholar of Rabbinics and New Testament and contributor to A Consuming Passion: Essays on Hell and Immortality in Honor of Edward Fudge. The final plenary session will be presented on Saturday afternoon by Chris Date, editor of A Consuming Passion and of Rethinking Hell: Readings in Evangelical Conditionalism, and regular host of the Rethinking Hell podcast.

Following an evening meal we will end the conference with a moderated panel featuring all three speakers, and an optional special showing of the feature-length film telling the story of Edward Fudge, “Hell and Mr. Fudge.”

On Saturday, there will be two breakout sessions, each featuring up to three different speakers.  Those interested in submitting a paper proposal may view the call for papers here (proposals due by August 21, 2016).
